Movie poster redesign project for a randomly assigned film. After watching Get Out several times and doing research on the themes within the movie, I was able utilize several visual motifs to guide my design direction for the poster. The portrait illustration was a water color painting i made by using a combination of tea and coffee, and utilize dull earth tones for most of the piece with small, vibrant reds and blues as vibrant highlights. I wanted to give the design a very gritty look, to emulate the feeling and style of more retro horror movies, hence the distressed and scribbled heavy-weight sans serif font.
